Product description
When you need wind data you can trust without the wear and downtime of moving parts, ultrasonic measurement is a practical choice. HD52.3D combines wind speed, wind direction, wind gust and U-V wind components in a compact 2-axis ultrasonic anemometer, with optional sensors that turn it into a single-instrument weather node.
Setup stays flexible across data loggers, PLCs and meteo networks. The instrument provides two analog outputs for wind speed and direction and supports RS232, RS485, RS422 and SDI-12 serial interfaces. Communication can be configured for proprietary ASCII, NMEA, Modbus-RTU or SDI-12, and wind speed and direction averages are calculated over a selectable interval from 1 s up to 10 min. Optional measurement packages add temperature and relative humidity, barometric pressure, and either global solar radiation or rainfall (these two options are alternatives). A built-in magnetic compass compensates wind readings and refers them to magnetic North even without North alignment, supporting accurate measurements in mobile installations. For cold and snow conditions, a heater option is available to prevent ice formation on the sonic transducers.
No moving parts
Ultrasonic wind measurement reduces wear and routine replacement needs.
Flexible integration
2 analog outputs plus RS232, RS485, RS422 and SDI-12 interfaces with Modbus-RTU and NMEA options.
Compass compensation
Magnetic compass refers wind data to magnetic North, even without North alignment.
Expandable meteo node
Options add temperature/RH, pressure, and either global solar radiation or rainfall.
Features
- Wind measurement
Wind speed is measured from 0...60 m/s (0...50 m/s with rain gauge option) with 0.01 m/s resolution, and direction from 0...359.9° with 0.1° resolution. - Magnetic compass
Compass range is 0...360° with 0.1° resolution and ±1° accuracy, supporting compensated wind direction. - Analog outputs
Two outputs are provided for wind speed and direction, configurable as 4...20 mA (standard) or 0...1 V, 0...5 V, 0...10 V (0\...10 V requires 15...30 Vdc supply). - Serial interfaces and protocols
RS232, RS485 (¼ Unit Load), RS422 and SDI-12 are available with proprietary ASCII, NMEA, Modbus-RTU and SDI-12 protocols. - Averaging configuration
Wind speed and direction averaging interval is configurable from 1 s to 10 min. - Mechanical and environmental design
IP66 protection, plastic case with AISI 316 metal parts, mounting on Ø 40 mm mast and M23 19-pole connector.
